LAURA MERCIER ILLUMINATING EYE COLOUR IN 'GILDED BRONZE'

'Gilded Bronze' is a neutral bronze (hardly any yellow gold in it) to a taupe colour.  I must admit, I did purchase this not only for its colour, but probably mostly because of the powder's pretty design. :)  I do fall for that a lot! Don't we all? ;)
The small compact it comes in is typical of the brand's packaging and style - simple and practical.  There's a mirror underneath the lid as you can see.
This kind of pattern just makes me want to go ahead and touch it.  Every. time. >_<

Comparison Swatches
Swatches were applied on my olive, medium (~NC30) skin tone), and photographed under artificial lighting and using a strobe.

Overall
In short, I'd say 'Gilded Bronze' is nothing mind-blowing.  The shade isn't particularly unique.  You will certainly find something fairly close to it, and probably for cheaper.  Nonetheless, it's a good shimmery neutral to have if you don't already have one to provide a sultry smokey eye look for a night out.  It has great colour pay-off.  The texture is fairly smooth - enough to enable me to pat this on my eye lid sufficiently with a clean finger tip if I'm so inclined.  While it gives a strong sheen due to the amount of micro-shimmers in the product, I don't seem to experience any real fall-out thankfully (and, hence, also lives up to its 'illuminating' description in its name, which is a good thing).
Hope this was useful.

Thanks for visiting! ^_^ xo
