THOUGHTS & SWATCHES: TOM FORD 'SHE WOLF' OMBRE EYE COLOR FROM FALL/AUTUMN 2013

Colours
The trio of eye shadows contain a deep, cool-toned matte brown, a satin to slightly shimmery taupe brown with a very slight golden cast, and a sparkly light to medium brown-tinged, neutral to warm gold.  The two darker shades have excellent colour pay-off, whereas the lightest shade can be applied sheerly with a brush or more intensity with a finger.  As you will see from my swatches against my skin below, they appear warmer against my warm skin tone compared to how cool and more grey they appear in the pan.  I suspect this will look cooler against those with cool-toned complexions.  So, either warm or cool-toned folks could pull these off easily and would look particularly flattering on those with brown eyes. :)

Texture & Application
I found it fairly easy to apply and blend the satin and matte shades using my Edward Bess Luxury Eye Brush.  The texture of those two shades are soft and finely milled, but because they are dark, it's best to do your eye make-up first before your base so you wipe off any fall-outs.  There isn't a lot of fall-out, but there will always be a teeny bit that drops during application!  With the shimmering highlighter, I found it best to apply using my clean finger as the texture is similar to a cream to powder.  This gives a more intense application, but you can use a brush if you want a sheer finish instead.  I did find minor fall-out of the ultra-fine shimmers, but nothing that would really bother me too much.

Longevity
My eye lids have a normal skin condition (i.e., neither dry or oily) and I found that the eye shadows (without primer) lasted on my from morning 'til early evening with minor fading.
Packaging
The compact comes with a mirror and a little dual-ended applicator with a blending brush (made of natural hair) on one end and a sponge applicator on the other end for patting on the product.

Swatches
All swatches below were applied dry (with no primer) on medium, olive (~NC30) skin tone and photographed indoors using a strobe.

Overall
A beautiful trio of shades that can be worn softly for day time without the sparkle, or with more intensity, depth and sparkly goodness for an evening out.  Love to pair this smokey eye look with a nude lip or a red lip depending on how bold I feel on the night. ;)

Hope this was helpful.

    1. Thank you Jess! :) Yes the palette is gorgeous - definitely see it before it's gone forever. ;) The blusher is called 'Narcissist' and it was a limited edition from 2012 Fall collection so it's no longer available. :( Thank you for reading my blog post and commenting. x
