Hi guys! Long time no blog! :( This post is about 4 weeks overdue, since I've moved cities recently. *sigh* Hope you've been well, though. ;) Hope to get things rolling again as things settle down more. If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you may have seen some beauty-related activities that I've tried to fit in during my move, so hope to share more about them on my blog soon! ^_^
YSL have come out with some pretty things in this autumn collection. Check out the nail polishes and the new awesome eyeshadow compact design in particular! *drool*

La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer in Gris Underground (limited edition) is right up my alley, while Beige Gallery looked equally "gorge" on the Ωtips and would flatter many skin tones. The formulation is impressive.
I picked the Pure Chromatics Eye Shadow Quad in 'City Drive Classy' out of the two limited edition released. The design of the compact is -
"a nod to the masters of Pop Art celebrated by Monsieur Saint Laurent and a tribute to New York City street art, the Pure Chromatics City Drive palettes feature an ultra-chic, ultra contemporary graffiti design in a choice of black or fuchsia".
CITY DRIVE Classy: From the 127th floor of the Dubai tower to the roof of a Manhattan skyscraper, champagne, marble, concrete and steel set the tone for the Classy palette. A harmony of natural yet always contemporary shades to release urban chic, by day or night.

The limited edition Baby Doll (liquid) Eyeliner was a surprise little pretty that hasn't received much attention in the blogosphere as far as I could tell, but I love this purple shade that I had to take it home with me.
Last but not least, I picked one of the new YSL Glossy Stains from the Rebel Nudes Collection. This range features a new and improved formulation of the original YSL Glossy Stains. I actually prefer it! It has a thicker, smoother consistency that's closer to a lipstick and is aimed to give an all day luminous effect on the lips. Above: I received quite a huge perfume sample of Opium. It has a roller-ball applicator!
I also received the YSL Glossy Stain sampler.
Overall, a couple of collections featuring high-quality items that we expect no less from YSL. :)

Oh that palette caught my eye, I didn't check the promo images for this collection but I think it must be nice if you grabbed it! And the color of the glossy stain looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm a sucker for the colour combination in the quad! Will post swatches soon if you're interested. ;) The glossy stain is in #103 "Pink No Taboo" (couldn't find the lippy at the time of writing the post as it was still in a box along with all my other makeup from the big move!!! >_<). It's a my lips-but-better ... it appears as a red-toned pink on my pigmented lips.

I have only rediscovered my love for YSL makeup (I don't know why but I have only stuck by Chanel and Dior in my early years of wearing makeup) and I just love their palettes, this Classy City Drive palette is beautiful. I never even wear neutral palette but this one is just perfect for tame the colors I normally wear. The liquid liner is superb: doesn't bleed at all and the color pay-off is just fantastic, you get what you see on yr eyelids. This is my go-to liquid liner (and the other 2 YSL Babydoll Liners)
ReplyDeleteI'm similar @AsianDollMilano ! I love Chanel and Dior, but YSL does have some beautiful things and come out with some gorgeous collections, too, which often catch my eye and usually remain just as impressed after I've tried them out. :) Love their nail polishes in particular! Yes, I agree, the eye liner is amazing and so easy to use (even for a liquid liner beginner like me). Very happy with that item indeed. It's my first YSL Babydoll liner, and suspect it won't be my last. ;)
