As soon as I heard that the American makeup and skincare brand, Sunday Riley made its way down under, the beauty addict in me jumped for joy! I do love me some new brands to play with. ^_^
I must admit I, know little of this brand, but I have read positive reviews about some of its products in the past from Sabrina (The Beauty Lookbook) and Gaia (The Non Blonde). So, I'm thrilled (and honestly, quite surprised since we don't get many brands that are made available here!) that us Aussies can finally experience it.
Sunday Riley launched in Mecca Cosmetica online and stores on April 28, 2013.
A little about the brand:
"From the New York city ballet to the runways of Stella McCartney, Lanvin and Helmut Lang...Sunday Riley's collection of botanical artist-designed makeup and high performance skincare has quickly garnered a cult-like following amongst fashion's finest and beauty's inner-circle."
(An interesting bit of info...the SA tells me that apparently Sunday Riley used to work for the cosmetics giant, Estee Lauder, before she created her own line).
I had a chance to go to my local Mecca Cosmetica counter and try some of the products out. Here's some photos I took of the brand's product display using my phone (hence, the lower quality - sorry!). I posted a couple of them on Instagram earlier. :) ).

| Sunday Riley for Vionnet collection (it includes a Prismasilk Eye Colour in 'Outback' 127, which I purchased - see more photos below). |
Of course, I took home with me a few items that I loved... ;-) Here's a sneak peek...

Thanks for visiting! ^_^ xo
Are my fellow Australian beauty lovers excited?! Let me know what you think of the brand in a comment below and let me know what products have purchased or want to purchase. Would love to hear. :)

Oh you mischief maker! After reading your review of the blush Dimples I thought I would give it a go. I have similar colouring to you be it with grey hair! I loved it and yes it does need a light hand but wow! how pretty and seductive and a great Autumn colour. I chose Sugar Baby lipstick to go with it and was really pleased with my choice which I relayed to the lovely and super helpful SA only to have her disappear for ages as she searched high and low for the products. Unfortunately, her return with only Sugar Baby left me heart broken. I hope they restock with Dimples quickly. Thanks for your reviews!
ReplyDeleteDoh! So sorry you weren't able to get Dimples. :( I had to go to another store and got it there instead as I never heard back from the original store. I got one of only 2 left!
DeleteGlad you liked it as much as I did though and my review was helpful to you. Hope you get your hands on one soon!
Thanks for reading my post and commenting. ^_^
I tried Dimples and paired it with Sugar Baby lipstick. All I need is for Mecca to get more Dimples in and I'll be a happy woman!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of their lipsticks yet! Will have to check out Sugar Baby! Thanks for sharing. ;)
DeleteI'm so excited! I also love that the brand is paraben free, as I'm slowly converting all my products to paraben free. I went into my local Mecca today and walked away with the soft focus pressed powder, solstice eyeshadow, effortless primer, liquid light foundation and blush in honeymoon light :) Not a bad start, considering all I planned to buy today was foundation! I'm looking forward to trying the brand's skincare too.
ReplyDeleteHi Vesna! Nice buys! That happens to me often too, walking away with more than I'd planned ;) LOL. I tried the sample of their Good Genes and I quite liked it. May give it a go next time (I have too many serums at present!). Solstice ES is gorgeous - glad you have that too! Honeymoon light is a lovely, uber bright blush. I tried that at the store - so pretty, but I had to draw the line somewhere hehe. (Perhaps next time ;)).
DeleteThanks for sharing your excitement and purchases on my blog. ^_^ Love to hear such things.
