CURRENTLY ON MY BEDSIDE...

WOODWICK BAKERY CUPCAKE CANDLE
I came across Woodwick Candles back in July/August at a pharmacy.  They're are made in the USA.  The wax is high quality soy wax, which burns up to 50% longer than conventional paraffin wax candles, and produce a virtually soot free burn.  The wax is also biodegradable and environmentally friendly.  What's really different about these candles is that they feature a unique wick made from natural wood that replicates the sound of a crackling fire when burning.  It's intended to be soothing.  I don't mind it, but hubby kinda gets freaked out by it sometimes.  Hehe.  For me, the noise also kinda has a critical purpose of reminding me that the candle is still burning and I haven't put it out yet!  (Don't leave candles burning! ;) )  Love this particular, bakery cupcake scent! ^_^ (Yum!)  I purchased my Woodwick Candle from the Village Pharmacy Burnside in South Australia in case you were interested and happen to be nearby. ;)
HOURGLASS N° 28 LIP TREATMENT OIL
What it claims: "...highly advanced lip treatment oil has both short- and long-term benefits for the lips. The combination of powerful actives, essential oils, plant oils, and vitamins works on contact to condition lips, relieve dryness and chapping, and shield against environmental elements. In addition, three advanced active ingredients strengthen the moisture barrier; boost skin smoothness; and elevate the appearance of lip texture, shape, and volume. No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil is dispensed via an opulent 24 karat, antibacterial, gold-plated tip to create a soothing effect on the lips.
I've been using this product for a couple or so months now (not regularly, but most days/nights), and unfortunately, I can't say for sure that I've noticed a real difference in my lip condition in terms of long term effect.  In that regard, it's overpriced.  (They're research was based on application twice a day for 28 days though, so perhaps you need to be as diligent to see the results).  However, I can't deny that I do love the packaging, texture and feel of this product when it's on my lips.  It does feel supple during and not long after it's faded from my lips.  The product does feel like it forms a protective barrier against cold, windy weather conditions that can dry out the lips.  If it's in your budget and want something that feels luxurious on your lips and have everyone intrigued by its gorgeous gold packaging and unique application then definitely worth checking it out. ;)  I'd probably repurchase again when I run out of this one despite said lack of long-term benefit.  There's nothing quite like it on the market.  Like the cooling effect of the gold-plated tip, too.
CHANEL HYDRAMAX + ACTIVE NUTRITION LIP CARE
This is another lip treatment I have on hand on my bedside on other days/nights that I'm not using the Hourglass one.  I guess it'd been so cold lately in my current location that I've had to look after my lips more than usual!  This one is also a lovely one to use, but I prefer the scent of this one.  It definitely has a texture that's more typical of lip balms compared with the Hourglass treatment oil.  The Chanel has a thinner texture that melts upon contact with your lips then settles into the skin well.  So, it also makes it a lovely base for lipsticks.  My only gripe is the jar packaging, which makes it less convenient to apply the product with.
THISWORKS DEEP SLEEP PILLOW SPRAY
If you have trouble sleeping like I do(!!), you'll do anything to help alleviate this problem. >_<  I personally found this product to help me slow down and relax myself in bed at night.  You simply spray it on your pillow and top end of your your sheet/quilt if you desire and the scent is intended to help calm and soothe your body and mind for a deep sleep.  However, for it to really work, you have to practice breathing slowly and deeply, and inhale all those relaxing scents, which come from the infused essential oils of:
- lavender to "relieve tension and insomnia with a fresh and sweet floral smell",
- vetivert to "alleviate stress, settle the nerves and establish a feeling of balance after mental and physical exhaustion", and
- wild camomile, which has a "relaxing aroma that deeply soothes, with an almost sedative effect to calm body and mind".
Phew!  I'm ready to dose off now! ;)
So, the oils, fragrance and act of deep, slow breathing all do really help to calm down and get a better sleep.  I really love this.  I've also used it on flights, by spraying it on a clean cloth/handerchief/tissue and breathing it in to help calm my nerves, or help me catch some zzz's on a red-eye!  I do the same at my desk in the office also, whenever I'm feeling stressed out.  There's a whole range of different products in this deep sleep range from ThisWorks.  Might try others out soon!  I purchased mine from Mecca Cosmetica.

Hope this was interesting / helpful.

Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
