YSL LA LAQUE COUTURE IN 'GRIS UNDERGROUND' (38) FROM FALL/AUTUMN 2013

Colour, Finish, Coverage & Texture
Gri Underground is a very uplifting, gorgeous, light blue-grey.  My kinda shade. ^_^  I loves it so.  It has a lovely cream, yet glossy finish.  Full coverage is achieved in 2 coats.  The texture was just right - neither thin or thick, and applies fairly easily and evenly without any fuss.
Packaging
Like with many other high-end nail polishes, the outer gold cap comes off, which you can also use to rest your finger as you apply.
The brush is flat and wide - great for quick, easy application in just a couple or so strokes (similar to Lancome Vernis in Love nail polish brush applicators).
Comparison Swatches
I compared YSL's Gri Underground to Lancome Vernis in Love's Gris Angora (407N).  You can find a full review and swatches of Gris Angora HERE.  As you can see, the latter is a periwinkle - has a red tinge to it (or leans more violet) compared to the more blue-toned Gri Underground.  Both beautiful! ^_^
Availability
Limited Edition from the YSL Fall/Winter 2013 Collection (click HERE to see the rest of my picks from the collection) at YSL counters in selected pharmacies, Myer and David Jones department stores.  Hurry.

Overall
A flattering colour to wear any time of year or occasion and one that makes me happy when I wear it. ^_^  Great formula, too - so far, YSL's nail polishes have consistently impressed me.  I'll be purchasing more no doubt.

Thanks for stopping by! xo

  1. I keep thinking about this one, but I have no idea if it'll be flattering on my skin tone! I am a little more confident now that I have seen it on you. Thanks! Got to swatch it soon :)

    1. Don't think too long - it's limited! LOL. Highly recommend. I think it will suit most skin tones due to the neutral grey aspect of it. The blue will compliment those with cool skin tones while the slight lavender/purply tone of it helps brighten and flatter yellow-toned complexions like ours. Glad the photos were of help. :)

    2. You may wish to swatch the Lancome one as well as it pulls more purple if you prefer that.
