Bonjour fellow beauty lovers! ^_^ Yes, I've been away from the blogosphere for absolutely ages as life has taken over and baby recently turned 1 (you may've seen my mad rush to learn all about cakes and cake decorating on my Instagram)! I can't believe how time flies. >_< Anyways, I have certainly missed blogging and glad to finally have a bit of time to get back into the swing of things. *fingers crossed* :-) I do have lots of new beauty goodies that I've tried recently and even several that are still waiting to be opened and played with so I'm so excited to finally get time to try them out and share my personal thoughts on them with you guys!! :-D
To ease back into blogging, I'm going to begin with a quick sneak peek of my purchases from the new Chanel Le Rouge Collection No. 1, which is the very first colour story for Chanel by Italian makeup artist Lucia Pica - the new global creative makeup and colour designer for Chanel. It's for their Fall/Autumn 2016 collection and it's inspired by the power of red!
And, what a gorgeous and empowering collection it is! I just couldn't resist picking up several items. There are certainly things I would not have thought to pick up until I tried them for myself! It's worth trying them out in person first in counter. They are a lot more wearable than you may think and a good makeup artist at the counter will show you how to mix and match and even use a single product for multiple uses!
// Multi-effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Candeur et Expérience (268)
This is a stunning piece and probably the standout of the collection in my opinion. Chanel makeup fans will first notice and be surprised to find that it is a palette consisting of only matte eye shadows! I I was impressed by the texture and pigmentation from my experience trying it in store. I can't wait to play with this more. The other reason I purchased this is due to its versatility. You can use the matte red eye shadow as a blush and the other matte brown shades to fill in your eye brows as well as contour your face! Great little palette for on-the-go and travel. ;-)
// Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rouge Profond (320)
I was initially going to skip this as it reminded me so much of a previous limited edition Rouge blush (shown here and here). But, I think in comparison, this is lighter, warmer and has a more golden base to it, so it's a bit more wearable for those with warmer skin tones. This looks quite natural when applied with the lightest touch on the cheeks - like a wintry flush.
// Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks in Rouge Vie (58) & Rouge Audace (59) [#59 is limited edition]
I bought these two lipsticks because they are just the most beautiful and unique colour when applied together!!! >_< The Chanel sales person tried it on me and she had it on as well (we have similar olive skin tone) and together they look absolutely amazing! *sigh* The Rouge Allure Velvet also happens to be one of my favourite matte lipstick formulas.
// Le Vernis Nail Gloss in Rouge Radical (530) [Limited edition]
I adored the first Nail Gloss from this year's spring collection (reviewed here), so I was thrilled they released another one and couldn't pass this up! From my initial swatch in store, this appeared very pigmented despite having that slightly translucent, delicious jelly finish. I can see this being very apt for summer and not just for autumn.
Looking forward to playing with these and sharing my swatches and thoughts soon! x
Did you pick up anything from this rather bold collection?
