THOUGHTS & SWATCHES | SUQQU EXTRA GLOW LIPSTICKS FROM THE AW16 COLLECTION

Above left to right: Suqqu 03, Suqqu 05, Suqqu Ex-01Suqqu Ex-02.

There are 12 shades of their Extra Glow Lipsticks launched as part of Suqqu's Autumn/Winter 2016 makeup collection.  These lipsticks have a non-pearl formula and use a blend of seven oils to achieve the signature juicy Suqqu lip.  All shades are fully pigmented except for the limited edition EX-01 and EX-02 that have a sheer, balm finish.

I have four of the shades to show you here (pictured below left to right):
// Suitou (03) - pink,
// Saeanzu (05) - an orange red,
// Mitsuichigo (Ex-01) - a sheer pink balm, and
// Mitsugaki (Ex-02) - a sheer coral balm.
These shades are rather light and bright and more typical for spring/summer rather than autumn/winter.  I can't complain because spring has sprung down under, so these will be perfect for me! ;-)
 Packaging
The Extra Glow Lipsticks are distinguishable from the other Suqqu lipstick ranges by the gold on the bottom of the lipstick.  It's also more square and has the larger Suqqu logo embossed on the black case.  They're the same height as say the Creamy Glow Liptick Moist lipsticks.
Below are the product description label on the bottom of the tubes.
Swatches
Below are swatches of each of the shades I have and a comparison swatch.  They were applied on my medium, olive (ÑC30-35) skin and photographed indoors using a strobe.
Left to right above: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Pygmalion (467) (for a comparison of a sheer coral pink colour), Suqqu Ex-02, Suqqu Ex-01, Suqqu 05 and Suqqu 03.

On My Lips
Below are how the shades look on my naturally pigmented, blue-toned lips.

Scent
There's a very slight scent if you sniff straight from the tube, but nothing obvious once applied - a plus for those with sensitive noses.

Pigmentation, Texture, Feel & Finish
Suqqu are well loved not only for their exquisite brushes, but also their colour makeup - not least of which is their ultra nourishing, juicy lipsticks.  They give a lovely, ultra-youthful, plump and juiciness to the lips.  I don't think you could get any juicier lips than with their lipsticks!  Definitely juicy and NOT drooly (but drool-worthy if that makes sense!). ;-)  I've tried and love their famous Creamy Glow Lipsticks, but this is the first I've tried from their Extra Glow range, so I was super excited to receive these, and even more thrilled that these did not disappoint in terms of their texture and feel - comfortable, creamy, juicy and nourishing.  I will say however, that these days I tend to gravitate and enjoy the matte liquid lipsticks and full colour lip that's in fashion right now, so I don't feel like wearing the sheer lipsticks as much unfortunately.  Although, I'm sure I will go back to loving these again at some point, especially in the warmer months when I'm more inclined to wear something sheerer and lighter in feel.  Having said that, the "Ex-0#" shades are very sheer.  They appear mostly clear on my naturally blue-based, pigmented lips, with a barely noticeable tint of colour.  If you're like me, you may find it better value for money to invest in a more pigmented lipstick shade as this can provide more versatility and more looks in one - sheer to full colour looks depending on how many layers you apply.  So, definitely opt for the other (non-"Ex-0#"-numbered) shades in the range in my opinion. ;-)  If you don't paying the high-end price for the sheer shades, then I will say that they will pair nicely with the red-hued Rengazome eye shadow palette (reviewed here) from the same collection, especially when the red eye shadow is worn more boldly and is the key feature of your overall look, while the lips stay very neutral with a juicy, plump finish.  The result will be a modern and fresh look. :-)  If you have dry, chapped lips then these will feel absolutely lush and extremely nourishing - even after they've worn off!  They leave your lips feeling soft and supple.

Longevity & Wear
Obviously, these lipsticks are on the sheer or moisturising and emollient side, so they won't be very long-lasting compared to matte/liquid lipsticks.  Do expect to reapply these throughout the day, especially after meals.  They feel great though, so it may not feel like such a chore to do.  ;-)  These also wear nicely as in it fades evenly rather than leaving patchy areas.

Overall
You don't know a juicy, youthful, luscious lip until you've tried Suqqu's lipsticks!  I highly recommend you try them.  Overall, I love Suitou (03) and Saeanzu (05) from the collection.  Great colours, decent pigmentation and the feel and finish are comfortable and nourishing.
