THREE FLASH PERFORMANCE EYELINER PENCILS IN 'EYE BELONG' (04) AND 'EYE ROCK' (05)

After seeing the lovely Rae from The RAEViewer get excited a while ago about the 'Three' (Japanese brand) Flash Performance Eyeliner Pencils, and then doing more "research" on the product as a beauty blogger should do (well, it was initially on behalf of my blogger friend Dr. Ebru from Chic Science)...I was intrigued and next thing I knew, I added to cart and checked them out...

and...

I'm glad I did. ;)  I purchased 2 of the available shades: Eye Belong (04) and Eye Rock (05) - no, srsly, I do when I wear these spanking hot eye liners!  :P  I've been using these almost every day (particularly, 'Eye Belong') for a few months now and thoroughly enjoying them.  I'm sure I'll continue to until they've been used up entirely!  How sad that would be when the day comes, but as Scarlett O'Hara would say...
"I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow."
:'(
'Eye Belong' (04) is a dazzling purplish-blue with mostly blue and fuchsia micro-shimmers.
'Eye Rock' (05) is an amazingly beautiful, blackened olive green with complex multi-coloured micro-shimmers.  It's probably the prettiest eyeliner I own.  I certainly haven't seen anything quite as beautiful for an eye liner! *_*

Packaging

The pencils come with a fairly decent quality rubber smudger on the other end to soften and blend out the eye line.  Normally, I never bother using these, and instead use my finger tip or a brush, but the rubber smudger is actually pretty good here.  It has a tapered end and angled, which is perfect for blending outwards to create a blended winged eye line!  Just flick it outwards and the shape of the smudger does the work for you.

You do have to sharpen them manually so unfortunately, there will be a little product wasted in doing so. /:-\

Pigmentation, Texture & Longevity
The pencils have excellent pigmentation in a single swipe.  Their texture is soft and creamy and glide on (yes, I'm going to say it coz it's true), like a dream. :)  There's no pulling or tugging, and there's ample time to blend out (and blend out easily) the edges before setting.  These eye pencils last all day, even through to the early evening on my upper and lower lash lines which have normal skin condition (i.e., neither oily or dry), with only a little fading.  I haven't tested these on the waterline, simply because that area on me is very sensitive, so I avoid putting anything on there.  However, if you were curious, Rae has indicated on her review that it does last fairly long on the waterline.  Also, I haven't experienced any fall-out of the micro-shimmers.

Swatches
For reference, the swatches were applied on medium, olive, NC30 skin tone.

Photographed indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe.
Shimmery under low light (no strobe used).

The uh-mazing multi-coloured shimmers in 'Eye Rock'. *_*

Comparison Swatches
Basically, both eye liner pencils are unique in my collection, however, I've compared a few just for the finish or effect they give.  Three pencils have the most micro-shimmer out of the eye liners swatched.  Chanel Gris Scintillant Le Crayon Yeux is more of a gunmetal with a metallic sheen finish rather than shimmery.  The slate blue Stila Smudge Stick Eyeliner in 'Blue Ribbon' also has more of a sheen, but 'Tetra' has more noticeable shimmers, but no where near as complex and as intense as the Three pencils.  'Eye Rock' reminded me of Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Eyeshadow in #25, so I've just swatched it to compare the shades out of interest.

Availability & RRP
I purchased mine from Ichibankao for ¥4,350 JPY (~AU$45)

Verdict
These are probably the best eyeliner pencils I've come across in terms of texture, longevity, colour and finish. Despite this however, they are very expensive for eyeliner pencils, and while I don't regret purchasing them due to the high quality (I'm very happy to have them!!!), I won't be rushing to buy more due to the high price point. If I had to recommend one, I would have to say 'Eye Rock'. It's a neutral, but still complex and super interesting.

Hope this was helpful. :)
