Comparison Between No.30 and No.40
As mentioned in my previous post, I found No.40 to be a couple or so shades darker than my skin tone and since I loved the texture and finish of it, I was keen to get No.30 to use as an all-over finishing powder that matched my skin tone. Purchased sight unseen, I received it and was a little worried that it may still be darker from looking at the pan. As you can see below, it still looks dark and doesn't look significantly different from No.40 However, when applied, it's very sheer. I have to build LOTS of layers before I can see that my face is a shade darker than my neck and chest. To be honest, I could probably get a better match in No.20 now (in the colder seasons) when my skin is paler! However, since it's very sheer, I can still get away with wearing No.30 as an all-over powder without adding any real visible colour difference if I apply normally (not too many layers). No.40 on the other hand, gives me a visibly natural-looking darker/tanned look when applied normally.
Anyway, if you're considering Chanel Les Beiges, it's worth to try in person first if you want to get a shade that matches your skin tone. Don't be fooled by how dark they appear in the pan, because as I said, they apply very sheerly.
For reference, skin tone is medium, olive ~NC30 / Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in 'Beige 30'.
My Current Favourite Way Of Applying Les Beiges No.30
I've been thoroughly enjoying wearing Les Beiges in No.30 all over the face after applying Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base and only concealing where I need to. My skin is currently (thankfully) been in better shape than it has been for some time, so I've been able to get away without my usual liquid foundation (plus, the illuminating base does such an amazing job of making the skin tone even and brighter!). ;) When applying Les Beiges that matches your skin tone all-over, it gives your skin a certain "je ne sais quoi". There's added glow and youthfulness without people noticing you've actually put any makeup on! I think that's the magic that complexion makeup can and should do.
Les Beiges as a Natural Healthy, Subtle Tan
If you choose a shade or two darker than your natural skin-tone, the effect Les Beiges gives is similar to a tinted moisturiser, but in powder form. I love it! It looks even more natural. It's amazing. It gives you that very healthy looking glow and tan.

Swatch Comparisons
Photographed indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe.
I swatched the above VERY heavily using lots(!) of layers just so you can see the shades and depth of colour.
Hopefully you can see in the above photo the subtle difference in depth of colour resulted in applying quite a few layers of Les Beiges in No.30 using the provided 'moon-shaped' brush. (See photos of provided brush HERE).
As you can see, there is no visible powder on the skin. The texture is so soft, uber finely milled and super smooth that it melds to the skin like it naturally belonged there. Makeup you say? What makeup?! ;)
Bottom Line
Still impressed by this product. Still one of my top products of the year so far. Chanel has definitely set the bar high with Les Beiges. Merci Chanel, merci.

Have you tried Les Beiges? If so what do you think of it? Please share in a comment below. Also, if you've purchased an exact match, please share your shade in Les Beiges and foundation you use so others can have an idea of colour matching in case they have similar skin tone to yours. That'd be really helpful! This would just be a guide though - nothing beats trying it out yourself in person. ;)
