Earlier, I did a review on the Dior Summer Nail Lacquer Duo in 'Bahia' (002). If you wish to read it please click HERE - it has details about the 'Bird of Paradise' collection, duo packaging including comparison to the full-size version of the Dior polishes, comparison swatches, etc).
This post will be about 'SAMBA' (001) duo. :)
The duo consists of travel sized bottles:
#794: accurately described as a "shimmering peackock feather green". It has a metallic finish. In the bottle, it seems to have a duo-chrome effect where it appears green then a teal blue in other angles, however, the same effect doesn't translate on the nails unfortunately. There's lots of shimmers and appears more green.
#402 : a glossy cream of bright, fresh green with a yellow undertone. It's beautiful and brightens my medium, olive skin. Very wearable and not too loud for a summer nail polish. :)

On My Tips...
In the photos below, I wore Dior #794 on my middle and ring finger tips as an accent, and the rest in #402. You could get away with 2 coats for both colours, but in the photos I used 3. I preferred 3 so that the nail line would be less visible. Also, adding a third coat of #794 added a little more depth that I preferred - just depends on your personal preferences.
I found I didn't have anything close to either of these colours in my current nail polish collection. If you wish to see comparison swatches to other similar nail polishes - Rae from the TheRaeViewer has some great comparisons. :)
Overall
Like the other duo, 'Samba' nail polishes have a quick dry time and apply fairly smoothly and evenly. I To my surprise I think I find the cream #402 more appealing to me. It's just a shame that more of the blue, duo-chrome effect was lacking in #794, which was what I was looking forward to the most (in this respect, I much prefer Chanel Le Vernis in Azuré (657) - see review HERE). To me, the #794 metallic green has a 'Christmas' feel than a summer feel, particularly when worn alone on the finger tips. Despite this, I do love wearing the two together like I have in the photos - it really adds interest and is rather fun to mix and match. I may just prefer to wear #794 alone on my toes instead. ;)
