SUQQU UK-EXCLUSIVE CHRISTMAS 2017 COLLECTION

This year's Christmas Colour Collection from one of my favourite luxury brands, Suqqu is inspired by the cold urban Christmas night, where "earthy tones warm with burgundy and metallic shimmer".  It is designed by Suqqu's ultra talented creative consultant Jorge Balzaretti.

The packaging alone is simply stunning and apt for the Christmas season.  The eye shadow palette is especially designed with its gorgeous sparkly white and rose gold finishes.  However, the lipstick packaging is the usual black lacquer and gold casing as per the permanent range.
I have two products from the collection reviewed here (as pictured above), but the entire collection consists of the following gorgeous looking pieces and their descriptions from the Suqqu press release:

Three Designing Color Eyes Palettes:

// Iwaiakari (109) - review and swatches below.
Celebrating the Christmas lights and taking inspiration from winter wonderlands, this palette mixes golden shimmers with warm pinks and touches of burgundy.

// Kohakuyoi (110)
A combination of deep browns and warm golden beige hues, honouring the amber urban dusk in the city.

// Hikarisango (113)
The shimmering champagne highlight and vibrant coral hue is contrasted with deep burgundy and brick browns, highlighting the light and warmth of an urban Christmas.

Three Extra Glow Lipsticks:

// Benisuguri (106)
A deeper raspberry pink lip hue.

// Yoibudou (107) - review and swatches below.
A deep warm, winter burgundy hue.

// Amasoubi (108)
A beige, rose toned lip.

One Pure Colour Blush:

// Tankouka (105)
Dusty rose with a soft gold smoky shimmer to match any skin tone.

Suqqu Designing Color Eyes in Iwaiakari (109)
Clockwise from top left of the eyeshadow palette there's a hot pink that's warmed with very subtle orchid and gold shimmers, a more shimmery light peach, matte pinky beige with warm pinks and a deep aubergine with pink and purple shimmers.  All the shimmers are ultra fine and very subtle.

I've been most excited about this colour harmony since seeing images of it in press releases via social media and I'm so thrilled to be able to get my hands on it!  As you may already know, I adore bright, happy colours and colour combinations such as these that go harmoniously together, but challenge and dare the inner makeup-artist in me to play and create a look together with that's not in my usual everyday repertoire.  This palette does exactly that, and I love it! ^_^

Below are swatches applied dry with a clean finger and without primer on my medium, olive (~NC30) skin and photographed indoors using a strobe.
As can be expected from Suqqu's more recent releases of eye shadows, this eye shadow palette applied just as easily and blended beautifully.  They have just enough pigmentation so you can apply and build more colour intensity as desired, and blend and layer together with little effort.  Applied over the thinnest layer of foundation over my eye lids to even out the skin tone (my lids also have normal skin condition - neither oily or dry), they stayed in place without any noticeable fading the entire day!  Sooo good!

Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick in Yoibudou (107)
On my lips this deep burgundy shade is really flattering as I have naturally cool-toned lip pigmentation - I LOVE IT!  It has a gorgeous, satin cream finish.  The formula is one of the best. It's very balm-like, nourishing, creamy and comfortable feeling with excellent colour pay-off.  It gives your lips a juicy finish and a slightly more plumped look.  So, if you have thin lips like I do, this dark, vampy shade will be more flattering and stop your lips from looking mean and even thinner.  Yesss!

Below is how the shade looks on my naturally, blue-toned pigmented lips against my medium, olive skin tone.
Below are comparison swatches of a few similar lipstick shades in my personal collection.  From left to right are: Burberry Lip Mist in Oxblood (No. 214), Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in Rouge Audace (59), Mac Liptensity Lipstick in Dionysus and Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick in Yoibudou (107)Suqqu's Yoibudou is noticeably more purple and the coolest toned of all of them here.
Below is how I wore the Suqqu eye palette paired with the Suqqu lipstick.  I think they look stunning together and while quite dramatic, I personally still find them quite wearable together particularly for evening wear.  Though, I happily wore this out during the day also!  For the eyes, I followed Jorge's makeup tutorial on Instagram (see HERE) as described below.
Image taken from Suqqu UK Official Instagram.

1. Apply C (base) all over the lid.
2. Layer B onto the inner corner blended to the centre of the upper lid.
3. Add A close to the both upper and lower lash lines, blend outwards for smokiness.
4. Give depth and intensity with D, close to the lash line and blend outwards.

For the look I created on myself, I only used the two little applicators provided in the palette, and they worked an absolute treat!  Then, finished off the blending at the very outer edge towards the brow with a larger blending brush - I used the Suqqu Eyeshadow Brush L.

Other items used for the look:
Face Chanel Hydra Beauty Flash as a primer, Chanel Sublimage Le Teint Foundation in 30 Beige, Bourjois Blush in Rose Frisson (54) on the cheeks, RMS Beauty Living Luminizer to highlight along the bridge of the nose and 'C' shaped from the top of the cheek bones to the brow bones.
Eyes – Lancome Grandiose Extreme mascara, By Terry Crayon Khol Terrybly in Brown Stellar (2) along the water lines (I know! I never apply in there coz I'm so sensitive! But, I think the extra definition finished the look off. A bit of pain for the art! >_< ;-))

Brows – I used the darkest shade in the Chanel Les Bieges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette for the eye brows to softly fill in any gaps followed by Suqqu Volume Eyebrow Mascara in 01 (love this product!) for added volume and keep the hairs in place.

Size
Designing Color Eyes Palettes contain 0.27 oz / 7.8 g of product.  The Extra Glow Lipsticks contain 0.12 oz / 3.7 g of product.

Availability
All items are limited edition and exclusive to the UK.  Available now at Selfridges, Fenwick of Bond Street and Harrods, as well as online through Harrods.com and Selfridges.com who both ship internationally.  You may also inquire about accessibility to the collection from other counters via the contact numbers listed on the Suqqu website, or email suqqu.london@eqpuk.com.

Verdict
Love both lipstick and palette.  The eye shadow palette will please even those in the southern hemisphere like myself who enjoy Christmas in the summer so the bright shades are perfect (and frankly, a welcome relief from all the usual, typical autumn/winter colour collections we often receive at this time! >_<).  The deep aubergine shade and pairing it with similar deep lipstick make it just as easy to transition to cooler months of the year.  A perfect balance!  I would definitely pick up the eye shadow palette out of the two though as it's unique and very much worth the splurge!

Hope this was helpful! :-)
