'Bahia' (002) is one of two summer nail lacquer limited edition duos released for Dior's "Bird of Paradise" summer 2013 collection.
"The 'Bird of Paradise' summer collection tells the story of this exotic bird, inspired by the stunning beauty of breathtaking nature and Dior fashion, bursting with colour.
"The nail statement of 2013: mix and match colour on the nails like a bikini for an electric silhouette. Dior invents the mini nail lacquer duo for tips and toes. Shimmering peacock feather green and sea blue or hibiscus pink and petroleum blue… Here’s to a summer of coordinated colours !" ~ Dior
I purchased both duos and will post photos, swatches and review of the other duo, called 'Samba' (001) soon if you're interested. 'Samba' is the "shimmering peackock feather green and sea blue" combination.
'Bahia' (002) is a bright, colourful combination of:
#667 : described as a 'hibiscus pink' / a hot pink, and
#792 : petroleum blue.
On My Tips...
I'm wearing 2 coats of the nail polishes. I used #667 on my ring finger nail as an accent, and the rest is #792. For reference, I have medium, olive skin tone (~NC30). All photographed indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe.

Application and Finish
The coverage is excellent. You can easily get a way with one coat really! However, I like to put a second coat (as photographed here) just to be thorough and ensure there are no uneven patches. The formula appears a little watery at times, but it doesn't really affect the overall coverage and finish surprisingly. One of the best bits is the fast drying time. Woot! The other is the super glossy, smooth, even finish. :) Love.
Packaging
The nail lacquer in the duo comes in mini sizes (see comparison to full size bottle below). The top cap is silver and plastic and I use it to rest my nail on while I apply the polish. It comes with a flat and wide applicator brush which makes it easy and quick to apply the nail polish in just a couple of strokes.
Dior Nail Lacquer Duo to Full Size Comparison
Each nail lacquer bottle in the duo contains 7ml / 0.23 Fl.oz of product versus 10ml / 0.33 Fl.oz in the full size Dior bottle. This makes the duo better value for your money and you get 2 shades! :)
Swatch Comparisons
As you can see (hopefully) in the photo below, Dior #667 is closest in colour to (if not exactly the same as!) Nars 'Schiap' nail polish.
Dior #792 from the 'Bahia' Duo on the other hand, is clearly a unique shade in my personal collection, which is a relief for me. ;) Below is a comparison of it to Chanel 'Blue Boy', which is a muted, medium, denim blue; and Dior 'Lagoon', which is a brighter, medium teal-hued blue.
Availability
Limited edition. For Aussies, this is available now in Dior counters in the David Jones and Myer department stores.
Overall
Great summer, combination that you can mix and match on your fingernails and/or your toes. Although these are not unique colours, they have excellent formula in terms of coverage (easy one-coater!), quick dry-time and glossy finish.
Hope this was helpful.
Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
