LANCOME LA ROSE À POUDRER STARLIGHT SPARKLE

Lancôme has now launched its limited edition gold version of La Rose à Poudrer, its rose-shaped highlighter, called Starlight Sparkle.  The brand originally released a stunning pale pink version of this for its spring 2017 collection and it sold out in a blink of an eye.  I was lucky enough to score one, so of course, I wasn't about to miss out on this gold version as part of Lancôme's 2018 Christmas release!  I am an avid makeup collector after all.

La Rose à Poudrer is a giant highlighting rose powder encapsulated in a luxurious and festive gold box.  This elegant and so glamourous pretty box contains a giant rose made of delicate textile.  Its very vintage inspired and a real collector's must-have!  Each petal encapsulates a luminous gold highlighting powder to apply on cheeks and décolleté.  Very gently swirl a small, soft fluffy brush (like an eye shadow brush) on one or two of the petals for precise application along the high points of the face.  Use a soft, fluffy cheek or powder brush for larger areas like the décolleté.
Below is a thin swatch of this year's gold (Starlight Sparkle) highlighter followed by how it looks blended out.
Below are several photos comparing the 2017 pale pink rose highlighter and the gold starlight sparkle highlighter together.  Have you seen anything prettier! >_<
Below are swatch comparisons of this year's Le Lion de Chanel Illuminating Powder (see previous post here), La Rose à Poudrer Starlight Sparkle (gold), and La Rose à Poudrer (pink) from left to right respectively.  The swatches are photographed under natural lighting indoors and swatched (dry using a finger without primer) on my medium, olive skin tone (~NC30).
As you can hopefully see, the gold highlighter is significantly more sparkly and has obvious micro-glitters compared to the pink highlighter, which is much more subtle, more smooth, finely milled and has a sheen finish (so could be used as an all-over glow if you wanted to.  The Chanel highlighter is stronger in gold pigmentation especially since it comes as a pressed powder with a lot more product in it in comparison to the Starlight Sparkle (hence, the latter applies more sheerly and is finer in texture).

The gold highlighter is still quite smooth to apply though and there are no big chunks of glitter.  It applies as pretty as it looks!  Perfect for festive occasions.  However, the shade would be best suited for medium to darker skin tones as a highlighter as it is deeper than the original pink highlighter (which was more suitable for pale to medium skin tones).  Lighter skin tones may opt to use this as a pretty gold top coat on the eye lids instead (I can only *assume* its safe to do so!  Just use with caution obviously).  While the rose appears delicate at first, I personally find it quite rigid enough to be used - at least on special occasions, so don't be afraid to actually use it!  Some things are too pretty to touch, but equally too pretty not to use?!  I'll leave that up to you. ;-)

Size
1.9 g / 0.067 oz (a little more than the pink version's 1.6 g / 0.056 oz and may be to do with the fact that it is more finely milled).
